In a way this is still a "barksian" Don Rosa, lacking attention to all those little humorist details filling each panel in his works to follow, and more focussed on the tale. The first part of the story seems quite standard, strictly following the pattern of many Bark's adventures...but then in the last pages the plot, the rhythm and the personal touch of Rosa literally EXPLODE!
Also, I like the art very much. It's amateurish and primitive, and that adds something special to the expressivity of the characters. The only problem are the nephews...he could not manage to draw them at all hahahahahah. Anyhow, great debut. |

Probably a project that Rosa had started years before in his mind , because the story is a jewel, one of the best (or the best?) treasure search story. Also the drawings are good, better than the author wants admit, i like them so much. |
