RobinHoodlum | | | | Thursday, Nov 23, 2023, 12:49:59 AM | The story is a simple one, told with slight variations many, many times: Donald inherits a yellow wood sculpture that he thinks is butt-ugly so he throws it in the garbage can. Later, he learnes that it is worth a million, so of course he tries in a lot of desperate ways to get it back. It’s amusing enough, but there are a two things I need to point out.
1) Page 1, panel 1: Donald says, ”My neighbours are probably paupers! 313 looks like a luxury car next to theirs”. I find this comment out of character for a guy who values other things in life more than he values money. Of course, that opening panel sets up for the last panel in the comic.
2) When Donald enters his neighbour’s chimney and leaves the statue he bought on the flea market on the mantelpiece and take the one he inherited. But he still doesn’t possess the million dollar statue when he had evaluated it. The only reason for this is that the statue sold on the flea market is the real deal!
Anyway, read this, it’s O.K.! 6/10
