Mind you, I'm not a huge Mickey Mouse fan either, so that might lower my rating a bit. Very good art, although the story itself is a little predictable. Sort of a compressed Lord of the Rings, or something. The other comments are spot on, this would make a pretty good animated film. 6/10 |

What I especially like about this story is that Micky and Goofy don't slip into any different roles, but the real Micky and Goofy are the protagonists and this story therefore becomes part of my head canon. Unforgettable are the panels in which Mickey, Goofy and Boz fly with a flamingo over the lands of Argaar. What an epic masterpiece! 10/10 |

La storia è, senza mezzi termini, uno dei massimi capolavori mai partoriti in Disney: il mondo dell’Argaar, con i suoi affascinanti territori e le sue bizzarre popolazioni, è ideato da De Vita in maniera memorabile e la narrazione avanza in maniera potente, tenendo alta la tensione per tutte le cento (e oltre) pagine. Ma la cosa che più colpisce è la caratterizzazione dei personaggi: è la prima volta in cui appaiono, ma subito ci affezioniamo a Boz, Yor, Gunni Helm, Zel e, perché no, anche al “Principe delle Nebbie”, come fossero amici di vecchia data. Il resto lo fanno gli strabilianti disegni, che regalano un aspetto impeccabile ai suddetti personaggi e creano atmosfere magiche, tra panorami nevosi, castelli diroccati, miseri villaggi e paludi nebbiose. |
