Real Life

Series following the life of three totally different girls (Amber Lee Thompson, Alice Keats and Andrea Tanaka) in high school who, after they got all in detention, get involved in each other lifes more and more until they became best friends in the worlds, all because of a mysterious boy appearing at their school, fitting exactly the imaginary profile the girls created on the social media network Real Life.

Alice has to decide between volleyball and the theatre as daughter of the school's volleyball team, but Thomas decided already for her, as he wants to play together; but Amber wants him to be her Romeo too. Furthermore, as each girl found out already, Thomas also suddenly vanishes from time to time, something the librarian might know more of.

To try to come more close to Thomas, Andrea applies (and gets) the role of photographer for the play, while Alice has to still split her thoughts between volleyball and Thomas. After all having been rejected by Thomas, things start to change afterwards during a school trip to a museum: Amber is not the queen bee anymore and disconnects with Edward on Real Life, Jay is done with Andrea friend zoning him and Alice is heartbroken. They can't find Thomas in the museum though, and it makes them to meet each other instead, after getting to know by Edward and Daniel, Alice's brother, that he should stop playing around. The door out of the room is locked, and Amber, Alice and Andrea start to see how pointless it is, and become actually friends, after all having been lonely. Thomas is happy with its job... but then a friend of the librarian warns him to not make again a mistake as in 1989!

Today is a parent–teacher conference, which makes everyone to try to hide things from their parents or classmates: Amber that she is not so popular as she used to be, Alice that going to rehearsals every day is the reason for being late to the volleyball matches (where she is saved by James), Andrea that she has no boyfriend (by letting Bill play as one, with him doing the reverse trick) and Edward that his father is controlling him and has high expectations. Edward is forced to hire Amber as costume designer with a protest otherwise lead by Alice, but takes away the lines from Alice as Juliet as revenge. This makes it more difficult to justify her work to her parents, and Thomas finds out that the librarian Rachel and her friend Kathleen knew each other and someone called Adam looking exactly like Thomas was their friend!

Amber gets a new idea for the school play: substitute Edward's version with their own secret own, RockSpeare, on the final stage, as revenge on Edward. A lot of people are in, and Andrea is asked to also join, to make the backdrops for the set, and Thomas volunteers to play Romeo. These days are filled by a school assignment to try how it is to have a baby, with interesting pairs: Amber and Jay and Alice and James. Amber finds out about Jay's love for Andrea, and Alice and Comes are getting closer and closer, though James doesn't want Edward to know. Thomas is only getting more confused; his life is identical to that of Adam, but while Adam disappeared after the school trip, Thomas is still there; places he visited after as if he never did, though.

Andrea really misses Jay, and the paintings as backdrops were actually for him. Megan breaks up with her boyfriend, Dylan, who also was in Sad Cats, but Thomas visits her, telling he thinks of Amber, actually, with her mother getting flashbacks of Adam. Amber decides to continue RockSpeare, and Alice fathers decides it's better for Alice to let her play, and so does she. When Edward announces the show, it turns out he knew about RockSpeare, and takes the credits for it. Daniel, Alice's brother, told Edward. Amber decides to continue, not knowing that Alice needs it to realise her dreams, Andrea to tell her love to Jay and for others to finally show off their talents; the show is a great success and Alice's parents are proud of her. In the end, Megan is happy for Amber, or so thinks she; James and Alice haven't talked about what they really feel for each other, Amber kisses Thomas before he disappears and Andrea didn't get Jay back. But, Amber, Alice and Andrea became best friends in the world, and that's what counts!
