Rockerduck and a dodgy pal of his follow uncle Scrooge and Donald as they take their healthy daily walks in the country,assuming Scrooge had some other reason to be there.Spotting them,Scrooge and Donald run away and hide in a hall where an auction is being held and,through a series of misunderstanding,Rockerduck and Scrooge buy an old country house where they believe a treasure may be buried.When Rockerduck realises there is no treasure,though,he sets Scrooge up to get him to buy his share of the house and grounds,which he does,much to Donald's surprise.It turns out that the whole place lies over a reservoir of methane gas,which Scrooge had smelt the night before.So,the story ends with Rockerduck eating his hat in anger as usual.

For a change,uncle Scrooge doesn't show up at his nephew's door to use him as a slave in some remote region of the Earth,but to ask him to join him in a holiday in the North,where he can relive his adventurous youth and save money for medical treatment.When they're about to cross a lake,though,Donald and Scrooge disappear,like hundreds of gold prospectors in bygone days.Hewey,Dewey and Louis,though,find out that their kidnappers are a Native American tribe who need gold to build water-resistant doors to keep their valley from being flooded,and manage to capture some of them,who are swapped for their uncles.Epilogue:uncle Scrooge manages to make money even from this adventure by swapping the golden doors for some water-resistant doors manufactured by his factories.
