or nearly one year now, visitors have been uploading story first-page scans using the web upload tool. Large scans are resized in order to be displayed on the web site, but as you read once you upload a scan, the original file as posted by the contributor is also saved separately on the server.

Up to now, the uploader did not have access to that file. This is now changed: the original file will be available too, although only to the user who uploaded it, through a "HR" (high-res) link beneath each scan. This way users can see we are serious that their contributions are fully taken into account. I figured it is nice to be able to download a big "fat" scan you once uploaded, rather than just a smaller version (currently you can upload up to 20 Mb in each upload!).
