Inducks vs. Inducks Cacou

t is now possible to send better versions of existing scans, you just need to wait for a maintainer to approve it.

When an improved scan is uploaded, a report is generated on COAzilla. This is how it looks for the maintainer who receives the message:

Regarding the online indexing feature, certain users indicated the problem of double-work with online indexing, when two persons are indexing the same comic online, without anybody warned about what the other is doing, resulting in a loss of time and energy for everyone.

I have accordingly added warning messages to prevent this (see screenshot below), which indicate if someone has already submitted an index for a particular publication (it is being validated but not yet shown on the site) or if someone is currently indexing a comic from that publication.

.

Persons who are still indexing something after one week are not counted (they will most likely not submit anything ever).

It is still possible that someone, getting past the warnings, decides to index the same comic than yours and even submit it before you. However the new system should considerably reduce the problem.

Perfect! Thanks for both features!

EDIT: I see now that a Coazilla report is sent every time an improved scan is submitted. If someone wants to replace a lot of scans, the maintainers will be flushed with many reports.

I can't think of a better idea for handling this, just pointing out the matter.

Thanks for these new features.

Apparently, when someone sends an error report about some issue, it also indicates that the issue is being indexed by that person. Could this be avoided?

IS the main database down or something since I cannot load the page.
