L'inconnu se révèle être Pat Hibulaire qui a subtilisé le "rayon de jouvence" d'un scientifique, l'objet ayant l'effet de considérablement rajeunir pour ensuite provoquer une croissance qui dure deux semaines. Pat entend ainsi rajeunir Mickey pour le rééduquer ensuite et en faire son complice pour le jour de son anniversaire. Mickey évite le rayon qui ricoche et frappe Pat qui redevient un enfant.
